Finally a device has arrived that can record at
full 720 x 576 resolution, 25fps and 8mb/s.
There are other recorders available that can do
this but at the moment, this is the only one
with a built-in colour screen!
The HQR2 is a micro pocket DVR that records high
quality D1 video to a CF card up to 32gb in
size. A 32gb card will hold around 8 hours of
video at full quality. It has a built-in lithium
polymer battery that will power both itself and
any bullet camera for over 3 hours. We've had
over 5 hours record time when used with the Sony
HQ2 bullet camera. We can also supply external
battery packs which will add a further 5 hours
record time. The HQR-2 can be connected to any
regulated 12v supply for even longer record
times.

The Sony HQ2 camera uses a SuperHADII CCD with
NeXT Chipset which resolves to over 550tvl.
This camera is based upon the same design as the
HQ1 camera but with much smaller electronics,
lower power consumption and better low light
capability.
The colour balance has been carefully adjusted
to to make the most of the treated lens which is
changeable for different angles of view (narrow
or wide)
Low light levels are hugely improved using this
chipset, there is currently no other 1/3" 19mm
bullet camera that can outperform this one in
terms of image quality and low light ability.
The overall size of this bullet camera is much
smaller than it's rivals. A diameter of 19mm and
length of just 55mm but we still managed to keep
the 1/4" 20 UNC mounting thread on the rear
making it really easy to mount.
IP68 rating makes it waterproof down to 3m
including waterproof connections for extension
cable runs of up to 50m.
If all of this wasn't enough, this HQ2 camera
only draws 65mA in power, 60% less than the next
best camera in it's class. This means the camera
keeps cooler and the batteries in your recorder
will last longer.

The HQR-2 has a built-in mono mic (in the
recorder). If you want external stereo audio for
higher quality sound recording then this mic
plugs directly in to the audio input jack of the
HQR-2.
Supplied with a small crocodile clip for
securing the mic in place.
Gain control is still functional in the menu
system of the HQR-2 when using this microphone.
